Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 12:20 PM at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel in St. George, Utah the American Legion Honor Guard augmented the Utah Army National Guard Honor Guard two (2) Guardsman detail commanded by Sergeant Ty Delambert who provided the Military Funeral Honors for Captain Richard H. Fleischer a U.S. Army Air Corp World War II P-47 Thunderbolt Fighter Pilot who was credited with six (6) confirmed victories. The American Legion Honor Guard provided the Firing Party and the Bugler who played “Taps” at this Military Honors Ceremony. Fifteen (15) Legionnaires reported for duty at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel and all performed their assigned duties well. The Flag under which Richard Fleischer honorably served was expertly folded by the Utah Army National Guard Honor Guard detail and the folded flag was presented to the next of kin by U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Donald Parker.
